Till We Meet Again: Never forget

Introduction & Purpose

Well here it is! After 40+ years of research and education I have reached one of my goals, to share the history of our ancestors! So, it should all be downhill from here, right? Ha ha! This is never to say that my research is complete. It is always a work in progress. We shall see.

Before you dive in I would like to clarify a few things.

#1 I love family history! It has called to me all of my life. Perhaps because I have fond memories of my childhood, of grandparents, picnics and porch swings. To record those events is to never forget the innocence of childhood.

#2 I am but a facilitator. The golden rule of family history is to tell the truth, to be as honest as possible. Leaving no room for speculation but a gather of facts. Knowing this I also believe in thinking the very best of people. No matter their challenges, triumphs or failures. Isn't this a part of our eternal quest? To love and forgive one another as the savior does? Understanding enables us to learn from those that have traveled before us and to draw upon their experience and knowledge. We can then add vigor to our course or, make changes in the direction of our own lives. We need not walk this path blindly or alone, for others have shown us the way.

#3 This is our family, not just mine. Information, opinions and experiences change constantly. With this in mind the most difficult stories to tell are of those that passed most recently. I can only share their stories from my own perspective. Your input is essential! Please feel free to comment and share your knowledge about our ancestors. If you have pictures or a memory that you would like to add please forward it to me and I will make it an official blog post with proper attribution. This blog is to encourage love and comradely between each other and our ancestors.

#4 Most of all enjoy their stories, for their lives are our lives, their stories our story.
